Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist for an awesome client in Spartanburg, SC. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating manual machining equipment and possess a strong understanding of machining processes. This role is essential in producing high-quality components for our manufacturing operations, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications. Hours are 5:00PM to 5:00am Monday – Thursday. Must have at least 4 years of related experience to be considered (Manual Lathe, Mill, Grinders etc). Pay is $22.00 per hour to start, maybe more depending on experience level. Must be able to pass a drug test and criminal background check. This is long term with benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machining equipment to produce parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Perform quality checks using tools such as bore gauges and coordinate measuring machines to ensure accuracy and compliance with GD&T standards.
  • Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining requirements.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Fabricate components as needed, including welding tasks when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills

  • Proficiency in operating manual machining equipment, including lathes and mills.
  • Experience with programming CNC machines is a plus.
  • Familiarity with plastics injection molding processes is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of electrical discharge machining techniques is preferred.
  • Ability to use GD&T principles effectively in the manufacturing process.
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is a plus.
  • Competence in using forklift equipment for material handling tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
