Staffing Associates have partnered with a Steel Manufacturing Company in Taylors, SC. We are looking for Press Machine Operator and Saw Operators to join their team.

Pay is between $17-20 based on the shift.

Day Shift is 6:00 am to 4:30 pm M-Th

Night Shift is 4:30 pm to 3 am M-Th

W/E Shift is 6 am to 6:30 pm F, ,S and Sun—work 36 paid for 40.

Purpose:

Sets up, loads, operates, and unloads equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality. Performs minor maintenance on equipment, including operator preventive maintenance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate equipment according to instructions and procedures
  • Perform quality checks on pieces completed
  • Ensure that lots are completed in priority order
  • Perform material handling as necessary to load and unload equipment

Additional Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret Structural fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Use of judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequences of set-ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
  • Agrees with and subscribes to and displays a commitment to our Core values.
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance and machine calibrations
  • Identify the priority order for production based on the information provided by the supervisor
  • Operate equipment according to procedures and instructions
  • Use a tape measure and a framing square to perform quality checks on pieces upon completion
  • Identify quality issues during first-off quality inspections and communicate with supervisors or QC to determine any corrective actions
  • Perform tool changes to accommodate different needs for production; maintain and rebuild tools as necessary
  • Perform inventory and production tracking transactions in the production control software
  • Use material handling equipment (overhead cranes, roller conveyor, transfer arms) to move material into place for production and out of the equipment once the piece is complete

General Tools Required:

  • Tape measures – 30 ft
  • Framing square

Experience:

1 -2 years Machine Operator experience
