JOB OVERVIEW
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Welder. This team member will weld, cut, and grind material to meet AWS D1.1 & D1.8 codes safely and efficiently while maintaining high quality. Additionally, this team member needs to perform at a highly proficient and independent level in order to achieve the goals for safety, quality, and cost.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preheat steel according to instructions WPS or AWS specifications
• Perform welds to specification including, size, profile length, and finish. Clean and grind welds as appropriate.
• Use backing bar and run-off tabs as appropriate to complete welds to specifications
• Use temperature indicators to determine proper preheat and inter-pass temperatures.
• Use Carbon Arc devices and grinders to back-gouge welds as necessary to complete welds to specification.
• Ability to layout intermittent welds per drawing specifications before performing welds.
• Perform simple Fitting activities including layout and application of shear studs welded to structural material.
• Ability to read and understand weld symbols, prequalified weld designations, and Weld Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Ability to work within mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
• Use judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes within the limitations of recognized or standard methods and procedures.
• Use of judgment to sequence welds to maximize efficiency and minimize weld distortion.
• Understands the concepts of protected zones for seismic weld applications.

REQUIREMENTS

Must pass a 2G test plate (All applicants for this position must pass the company’s 2G weld test. MIG Structural Welding Experience is a must)
Must pass a blueprint reading test
Must pass a measuring test
• Must have a few years of on-the-job MIG welding experience
• Must have steel-toe metatarsal work boots
• Must have your welding hood
• Must have a clean background for the past seven (7) years
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED

JOB INFORMATION:

Full-time positions available wit the following hours/schedule
• Day shift: 6 am – 4:30 pm Mon. – Thurs. (Sometimes 1/2 day on Fri.)
• Night Shift: 4:30 pm – 3 am Mon. – Thurs.
• Weekend Shift: 6 am – 6:30 pm Fri., Sat., & Sun. (Work 36 get paid for 40)
Pay/Compensation
Starting pay is $18-$20/hr. DOE, test results, and shift preference
